Being socially awkward sucks! You feel unnecessarily shy, you feel extremely conscious of yourself, your appearance, your body, your clothes. When you are under dressed that's worse..you feel like such a looser and unattractive..when you look really good, you feel you are over dressed and like a complete joke. Trust me..it's a horrible feeling. You admire people who are so free, confident, lively and comfortable in their skin and you wonder how they do it. Well..it's something you can do too only if you free yourself completely and I've got just the right recipes to be less socially awkward and free yourself.
1. Free Yourself
When your find yourself being socially awkward, shy or overly conscious...learn to free yourself. You can go somewhere private if you can and take deep breaths to relieve yourself from being nervous if you are and regain composure. Listen to your favorite music and just let yourself get carried away for awhile. Let the music embrace your mind and imagine your're somewhere else entirely..Imagine something that makes you smile..a movie, a quote, a person..anything and just feel at peace with yourself and free yourself.
2. What People Think About You Is Not Your Business
People will always talk and find something or someone to point fingers at. Take that as on of the normal attributes of humanity and ignore it. Never let what people say about you get to you. Most people just envy you and would do anything to put you down while other are just well...plain evil. So ignore what they say and just be you. You are Unique and one of a kind. Keep being you and keep doing you and never let what they say get to you because people would Always Talk.
3. Look Good
There's a saying that goes..'dress how you would like to be addressed'. Looking gives you a sense of confident and once you free yourself off negativity and ignore what people say about you..you will definitely shine. Dress well and be sophisticated. Dressing well isn't expensive and you don't have to spend a ton of money to buy good clothes. Once you look good you can approach anyone without looking down on yourself. Be confident and Comfortable in your own skin because you are beautiful in every way and unique.
4. Be Chatty
Learn to start conversations and use good one liners if you can. I'm not saying you should be loquacious or be a talkative but learn to engage people in conversations. Start by knowing what interest them and bring up topics on that..if it interest you too. Make eye contacts while having a conversation. If there is any awkward silence..fill it up by bringing up something that interest you both. If you don't think there's anything else to say..don't feel awkward. It happens..just smile or leave.
6. Emulate Your Role Model
Why it is good to always be yourself..it's also good to Learn. Watch how your role models or people you admire Carry themselves and learn from it. Watch their body language, how they, talk, when they talk and get inspired. Find the uniqueness in people and try rub it in. You just might learn a thing or two to help be less socially awkward. Besides its always good to look up to certain people get draw inspiration from them.
7. Don't Give Up On Yourself
It's not easy to suddenly not be socially awkward anymore. It could take time. Don't give up or hate yourself. We learn everyday. Just keep trying and keep believing in yourself. You are your own cheerleader. Never allow anyone or anything get to you. Trust me..No one is what it. People will always talk..never let them put you down because the world is waiting to celebrate you and see what you have to offer. So focus on your talents, listen to good music, look good, draw inspiration from anything that inspires you and put yourself first. Peace!!!
